Korean actor Hyun Bin has finally confirmed to cast as the male lead in upcoming romantic-fantasy Korean drama ‘Secret Garden’ which was originally set to be played by Korean actor Jang Hyuk but has quit from the project due to reasons relating to his agency.
Hyun Bin will be taking on the role of a finicky heir to a chaebol family who operates a department store. His arrogant personality changes after he meets a stunt-woman named Ra Im played by Korean actress Ha Ji Won.
The drama has become a hot topic regards to its casting. Jay Park, the leader of former boy band 2PM, was in negotiation with the show’s producer to play the role of gifted singer in the show but it failed at the last moment and a replacement has yet to be found.
Then Jang Hyuk, which comes from the same agency management as Park, Sidus HQ, cancelled his appearance in the drama as well. Meanwhile, Korean actress Kim Sa Rang, also with SidusHQ, was rumored to quit from the drama but the decision has yet to be finalized.
‘Secret Garden’ will be helmed by producer Shi Woo Cheol and screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, the duo creative behind hit Korean dramas ‘Lovers in Paris’ and ‘On Air’. The drama is set to premiere on November 13 on SBS, replacing ‘Life is Beautiful’.
